Sis Mason

Brother and Sister Mason and family came to Hobbs, NM in the early 1980s. Brother Mason was hired as the minister of the Scharbauer Street Church of Christ. From the time that I met Sis. Mason, I knew there was something special and unique about her. She had the most kind and gentle face that anyone could meet. Her voice was soft and happy and she loved people. Sister Mason was a dedicated wife, mother and preachers wife. I never once heard a negative mumble or could read that she was ever unhappy. Her smile and grin was infectious and we appreciated seeing the leading lady come to services with a smile on her face and lending a helping hand. Sis Betty Mason loved to bake. One dessert recipe that I loved was her 7-up pound cakes. I talked so much about that cake until one Sunday, she brought me the recipe. Believe it or not, over 35 years later, I am still baking the Betty Mason pound cake. It is my go to dessert. I loved Sister Mason but God has called her home. She is resting and waiting for her reward which is heaven. My condolences to all the family, especially Bro Mason. My prayers are with you daily. Your Sister in Christ, Beverly Hutchings
