The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James McCoy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A Part of Our Family

Mr. McCoy was a part of our family.  He was best friend to my Grandfather, the late Deacon Evander McArthur.  I have great memories of him being at our home, talking with my Granddaddy for HOURS....about everything apparently.  After Granddad passed in 2001, Mr. McCoy became a steady presence for our family, helping with items around the house whenever we called, visiting with my Mother, Ms. LaVera Adams, and my Aunt, Mrs. Fran McEachern, esecially on Sunday afternoons, again, talking for HOURS.  He also shared a specail relationship with my husband, Pastor Melvin R. Lindsay, Jr.  and with me, calling us "Rev." and his "Lil Sangin Lady".  We would call and talk to him from Durham and he would always be glad to hear from us....and he always had encouragement and wisdom to share.  My family is going to miss our extended family member, Mr. JC McCoy.  He was a blessing to the McArthur and Adams family.
