Obituary for Kenneth Lamar "Short Dog / Ghost" Walker

On Thursday, July 14, 2022 our beloved Kenneth Lamar Walker transitioned to his eternal home. He was born in Opelika, Alabama on September 16, 966 and is the son of the late Annie Mae Jones and Johnny Walker. Kenneth graduated from South View High School class of 1985.

Early in life he united with Nazareth Baptist Church in Beauregard, Alabama where he received his spiritual foundation.

Family held a special place in his heart. Living across the street from his sister was truly a blessing for him. He enjoyed going to her house everyday when he was not out of town due to his work schedule. He was also a blessing to her and was always available to help out in any way needed. The family would always be assured that whenever he went out of town Kenneth would always let them know where he was located. They knew that whenever he returned from his job he would bring something back for them. He enjoyed buying key chains and clothes for his family while on the road. To him every family member was special. Kenneth gave his family and his friends their flowers while they could enjoy them. He brought back souvenirs for family and friends.

Kenneth was a happy person and he enjoyed laughing. Laughter to him was medicine for his soul. If you were in his presence and you were down, sad or depressed he knew how to lift your spirits. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. If you wanted to talk about sports there was no other team that he wanted to talk about. Kenneth also loved dancing and singing. We will al-ways remember how he loved giving people nick names.

In the Meadowood Community he was well known and had many
friends. His philosophy was. “To have a friend, you must be a friend.” Kenneth was a people person and he enjoyed life to the fullest. Though his life may seem so short the love he shared on his journey cannot be measured. Memories of our beloved will keep us strong.

Our beloved was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Jones; his father, Johnny Walker; one sister, Carolyn P. Jones; one brother, Harold M. Jones and his niece, Yolanda M. Pond.
