Obituary for Lillie Mae Potter (Watson)

Lillie Watson Potter was born on February 16, 1940, to the late Luzainer and DW Watson, in Quincy Florida. This union produced a total of 8 children, LW Watson, Ethel Watson Ford, Dorothy Watson Donar, Hattie Watson Ramsuer, Mayola Watson Franklin, Eva Watson Doster, and James Watson. Lillie was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday January the 20th 2019.

Lillie was a gentle soul that had a warm and gentle smile with kind eyes that she was quick to use to disarm and charm all that she met. She held a position at Peoples bank for a time in which she was one of the staff that handled disgruntled customers. She shared with me all issues may not have been resolved the way a customer wanted, but they were all pleased with the attention she gave them. Lillie finished her professional career in administration at Alpha Academy. Here she assisted in shaping the minds and character of the students, staff and parents, she came in contact with. She had a way of disciplining you and making you like it.

This charm Lillie possessed was not limited to her professional career. As a young girl in elementary school she caught the eye of a determined young boy, Willie Paul Potter. His father would give him, and his brothers and sisters a nickel each day for lunch. Willie was so shy and smitten with Lillie he would have one of his twin sisters take his nickel and give it to Lillie. Willie got older and more courageous and decided it was time to ask Lillie to be his wife, she of course said yes. Their wonderful union blossomed into four children, Kenneth, and Wife Sharon, Michael Anthony, and wife Sharon, Calvert Lyndell, and Wife Zarah, and Pamela Potter, and husband Claude Sanders Jr.

Lillie is survived by her husband, and children. In addition to her grandchildren Diamond Potter, Jamus Potter, and husband Charles Jones, Antanette Potter Walker, and husband Jameek, Brittany Potter Harris, and wife Andrea, Chrystal Potter, Kate Potter, and mom Anne Saviers, Rayyaan Potter, and Zubair Potter, great grandchildren Zianna Walker Jerimiah Walker, Aloni Purvis, Houston Potter. There is a host of other family members and friends as well.
Lillie gave her life to Christ at an early age.

She was a member of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the usher board. She was truly loved and will be truly missed.
