Obituary for Pernell Alston

Pernell Alston was the first child born to Willie Percy
and Eula B. Alston on August 20, 1951. He grew up in Louisburg, NC, and attended elementary through high school there. During his military education he earned his degree in Management and Mechanical Engineering. He joined the United States Army in 1977 where he received
numerous awards and medals. He retired after 24 years of service to his country in Fayetteville, NC.

He met his loving wife Victoria Gethers in 1999, and entered into Holy Matrimony on April 26, 2003.
In 2010 the Lord called them to Ministry, where Pernell became Deacon Pernell while stationed in Frankfort, Germany. They continued the Lord’s work as Elder and Pastor and founded their own Ministry, Alpha & Omega Deliverance Temple Holiness Church in Fayetteville, NC. There they continued to work diligently for the gospel of Jesus Christ, until his health declined, never losing faith in God. Known admiringly as Alston, Mr. P, and Babe (by his wife), he loved the outdoors and his cars, but he loved his Zero-Turn lawn mower the best, often cutting yards for free to help the elderly and widows. His kind heart led him to be admired and respected by neighbors, friends and family. He spoke to everyone and never met a stranger.

Pernell leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted, faithful and loving wife of 17 years, Victoria Virginia Alston; four children, Seneca Alston, Kenya Alston, CW2 Arnold Heyward Jr. (Sasha), and Antonio Heyward; four grandchildren, Antonio Heyward, Jr., Kaelyn Battle, Kierah Heyward, and
Kayla Heyward; two sisters, Emmajean Beverly (Robert) and Hattie Louise Alston; three brothers, Stanley Alston (Brenda), Othalee Alston and Charles Alston. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
