Obituary for Timothy Kieth Rafferty

Timothy Keith Rafferty, age 65, passed away on January 13th in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Timothy (Tim) was the son of Thomas and Rosemary Rafferty of Addison, NY. He was born in Elmira NY and lived most of his life in the Horseheads, NY area, graduating from Horseheads High School. He was one of eight children raised by Thomas and Rosemary. His life was full of many childhood adventures, growing up in the country with such a large family. He was forever getting into mischief with his older brother Steve. The two became notorious in their neighborhoods and on the school bus. Tim married his high school sweet heart, Lynn Walters, and settled in the Horseheads area as a family. Some years later, Tim moved his family to North Carolina while looking for employment, finding work as a carpenter. They settled there and Tim remained there for the rest of his life. Tim was a jack of all trades and always excelled in anything pertaining to gardening. He had a natural “green thumb”, much like his uncle Keith on his mother’s side of the family. After Tim and his wife parted their ways, Tim met Ann Kamolrat Wicker who was a widow and whose husband had been stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. Tim and Ann had been together for over twenty years and Tim referred to them as Romeo and Juliet. They were great companions for one another.

Tim was predeceased by his mother Rosemary O Rafferty, recently his father Thomas J Rafferty, his former wife Lynn Rafferty Rahall, his two older brothers Daniel Thomas Rafferty and Steven Michael Rafferty; as well as his son Timothy Keith Rafferty Jr., and nephew Caleb L Smith.
Tim is survived by his loving companion Ann Wicker; his daughter Kristin Rafferty and grandson Jace; his sister Colleen Morseman (Timothy), sister Rosemary Smith (Richard), sister Robin Benesh (Michael), brother Shaun Rafferty, sister Sharon Machuga (James), brother Michael Rafferty. Tim will be laid to rest alongside his son Timothy and his parents Thomas and Rosemary at the Elk Creek Cemetery at the family’s convenience in the near future.
